Project Spotlight: Palletising Line Upgrade
DCISIV Technologies was recently engaged to engineer and build a state-of-the-art palletising line, replacing an unsafe and unreliable end-of-life system. The brief called for a robust, scalable solution with capacity for future growth.
Our team designed and delivered a complete palletising cell, integrating all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, safety, end-of-arm tooling, and materials handling components. With our trademark attention to detail and commitment to quality, the project was completed on time and on budget, meeting a high standard of workmanship.
System Overview:
- Empty Pallet Handling: Pallets are loaded onto an infeed conveyor system, with future provision for automated pallet dispensing.
- Palletising Process: A high-speed, precision KUKA robot stacks products according to one of 30 pre-configured scenarios. New scenarios can be easily added, edited, and fine-tuned for rapid deployment.
- Production Capacity: The system comfortably meets current throughput requirements and is designed to scale with future demand.
- Outbound Handling: Completed pallets are conveyed out of the cell for forklift pickup, with future provisions for accumulation and automated pallet wrapping.
This project tested our full range of capabilities as “last mile” designers and integrators. By working closely with the client, we delivered and commissioned the system with minimal disruption to production.
